     On September 17, 2019, the 7th 2019 International RF-SOI Workshop held by SOI International Industry Alliance was held at the Shangri-La Hotel in Pudong, Shanghai. It was organized by Shanghai Simgui Technology Co., Ltd. and hosted by SOI International Industry Alliance, VeriSilicon, National Silicon Industry Group (NSIG) and Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology (SIMIT). A total of 500 industry elites from the world's leading semiconductor companies such as Global Foundry, Tower Jazz, Soitec, Murata pSemi, SMIC Ningbo, China Mobile Technology Research Institute, Yole France, the world's leading RF front-end market research agency for cell phones, as well as major domestic and international investment institutions and government departments, dedicated this year's summit to a profound discussion on the hottest 5G communication technology and whether its ecosystem is mature.

      Dr. Song Dan of China Mobile, gave a presentation on "5G is here, are you ready?" during the first keynote speech in the morning.This time the report shortens the contents of the FR2 mm wave of 5G communication and focuses more on the application of Sub-6GHz in the FR1 band of 5G communication, which is more practical. Compared to n41 (2.496 - 2.690GHz), the highest bar of 4G LTE, n77 (3.300 - 4.200GHz), n78 (3.300 - 3.800GHz) and n79 (4.400 - 5.000GHz) of Sub-6GHz are higher.       A report on the morning's second session was given by Cedric Malaquin, Market Analyst at Yole, on "5G is on, which RFSOI technologies will be affected?".It updates last year's numbers and categories based on the latest market trends. The market share of the split switch (SW) and low noise amplifier (LNA) will increase from USD 925 million in 2018 to USD 1,734 million in 2025; will increase from USD 514 million in 2018 to USD 1,225 million in 2025 for the antenna tuner; and will rise from USD 2,500 million in 2018 to USD 2,898 million in 2025 billion USD of module chip for the reception. The above market segment is precisely the focus of CanaanTek.        Spokespersons from RF chip design companies and chip manufacturers in China conducted an in-depth discussion on the progress made in RF-SOI during the 2nd China RF-SOI Ecosystem in the afternoon of the conference.         Ni Wenhai is the founder, chairman and chief technology officer of CanaanTek and a national leader in 5G RF. He gave a keynote speech titled "Critical SOI CMOS Blocks in the 5G NR Sub-6GHz RF Frond-End Architectures" in the afternoon. According to Dr. Ni's report, Huawei launched the world's latest 7nm Kirin 990 processor and Balong's 5G communication modem details last week. It is noted that only Sub-6GHZ is focused on the processing of 5G, excluding the millimeter wave at 28GHz, which is currently not practical. Ni Wenhai believes that what we can do is to prepare for the substitution and supply of domestic brand chips.
